Nissan Admits Emissions-Test Data Was Falsified

data, the company said, in what is the latest data-faking incident among Japanese manufacturers.


It is also the second compliance scandal at Nissan in recent months after it admitted to faults in

vehincle inspection procedures.

Brexit: Tell EU the Chequers plan is final offer, says Leadsom

Brussels must be told that the prime minister's blueprint for future UK-EU relations is "the final offer", Commons leader Andrea Leadsom has said. Mrs Leadsom  told The House magazine  the Chequers plan must be taken seriously or the EU risked a "no deal" Brexit. Boris Johnson and David Davis quit the cabinet over the prime minister's plan. Theresa May has denied claims the trade proposals were "dead in the water" after accepting Brexiteers' changes to the Customs Bill this week. The UK is due to leave the EU on 29 March 2019 but has yet to agree how its final relationship with the bloc will work. Ryanair cancels 600 flights over cabin crew strike

Irish airline Ryanair has cancelled up to 600 flights over two days next week due to a strike by cabin crew in Belgium, Portugal and Spain. It will affect almost 50,000 passengers who had booked to fly to or from those three countries on Wednesday 25 July and Thursday 26 July. Ryanair apologised for the disruption. It has already contacted the affected passengers and said if customers have not received an email or SMS text, they should expect to travel as scheduled. The European cabin crew strike follows on from separate industrial action by Ryanair's Irish-based pilots. On Wednesday,  the airline confirmed it had to cancel 24 flights between Ireland and the UK scheduled for Friday 20 July  due to the pilots' strike.
